Devbag is a peninsula with the sea on one side and the Karli river on the other. Devbaug Sangam where the river meets the sea is one of the most picturesque locales in Malvan. With a long picturesque coastline and beaches extending from Achare in the north to Devbag where Salgaonkar Beach Resort is located in the south, Malvan is blessed with some of the best beaches in Maharashtra. Tarkarli beach 5 kms north of Devbaug is arguably one the most picturesque beaches. A turqoise blue sea with the Sindhudurg fort looming in the horizon makes a sunset at the Tarkarli beach truely unforgetable.

S.C.U.B.A Diving which was introduced near the Sindhudurg fort is now available at the open seas near Devbaug. The dive site is located near the 'Dutta mandir' located at the start of the little village.

Being in the open seas S.C.U.B.A Diving in Devbaug is even more exciting than S.C.U.B.A Diving in Malvan near the walls of Sindhudurg fort. The best season for S.C.U.B.A Diving in Devbaug is between November to February when the water is the clearest in Devbaug.

Apart from the beaches and S.C.U.B.A diving the major attraction in this region of Konkan is the formidable sea fortress built by Shivaji Maharaj - Sindhudurg fort located just off the Malvan jetty.

Built between 1664-67 AD by Shivaji maharaj, the Sindhudurg fort is one of the best preserved sea forts in Maharashtra. Sindhudurg fort has a four kms long rampart with 42 bastions. MTDC trained guides are available to take you on a guided tour of the Sindhudurg fort.
